Nearly finished my marketing assignment! |
Nearly finished my assignment, I'm more than half way through, only 300 words or so left.
My little nephew slept over and the day was spent playing with him, and burning mum's onions (so sorry mama!) which she was going to put in the noodles. My aunty and cousins came over but I left with my dad before I saw her.
My dad and I went to an asian restaurant called Wei Long Hakka Cuisine. I was going to buy a Groupon for it but dad wanted to have more flexibility with the choices. Glad he did!
We caught the bus into the city and wandered into the restaurant and ordered pork belly with mantou, deep fried eggplant with special sauce and deep fried wonton.
It was delicious and I was really full. We then walked to the ferry wharf and caught the ferry back to the place we are staying.
Now, dad is cleaning up the place and I'm going to read my book. Tomorrow we are planning to go shopping in nearby factory outlets. Planning to get some shirts if I can find any and maybe a long black skirt for work and leisure.
Nothing else to report.
Need to read all my books, my books arrived from lulu.com and they are really good quality I like it much better than Createspace. I may just focus on lulu.com from now on. Marketing would be really useful as I am planning to use it a bit on my books. Getting a target audience and planning my messages and promotion mix to them. I hope one day it will be a side mini business. But it is actually just a hobby. I don't make much out of it. $50 per month tops is how much I am making, mostly from Createspace at the moment. Hopefully, I can mimic my success in Lulu.com.
Thinking about the future, my prediction is that one day we will be able to purchase land and housing real estate online internationally and domestically. We just need someone like a broker to represent us and go to the site and strick the deal and we purchase it online, rather than face-to-face at the moment. Maybe auctions can be done online too.
But that's way too hard for me to do. It'll make heaps of money I'm sure but there are legal stuff which I don't even understand and other red tape that needs to be cut through, so at the moment it's still a fantasy for me.
Prediction, more people will work on freelancing through sites such as Uber and Airtasker. People will create a small business and hire out their staff on Airtasker and maybe even all or some of their staff from Airtasker. There's where the new entrepreneurship will come from, from Airtasker, or online methods that matches people that are looking for work and those who are looking for people to do work for them, even small or big tasks for long or short periods. And Airtasker can also become a contract agency, contracting popular people out to jobs that are similar.
Prediction, there may be a rise, a renaissance if you like, for Libraries, museums and cultural centres. That could be in the near future as more value is placed on learning, education, creativity and culture. There may be even a spike of people being hired to do Library duties. Also I believe that the library vocation should be renamed to something like information managers or knowledge managers and market themselves to become that. Different form information technology where one works solely with computer technology, but someone who manages information through creation and managing databases, tagging, catalogues, records (e.g. in TRIM) and maybe even work with data analysis. I think record managing will be where the jobs will be for those looking into information/knowledge managing. Many companies are looking for people with TRIM experience and record background. They may not be high paying jobs but it seems to be a growing area which I predict may grow even more.
For food and beverage industry, I think online is the way to go of the future. People would order their food and drinks (such as wine) online and it will arrive to them. There will not be a storefront for some of these shops. They may even be homemakers, normal people like you and I who just likes to cook. What they do is they make an online shop and create menus. People order through online and it gets delivered by Ubereats, or Deliveroo. There should an online presence that is a like an online food court for people who want to sell food, that people go to and order food from. However, there is red tape over all this, one needs to be a registered business to sell food etc, due to food quality and hygiene standards here. But that's just an idea.
Anyway, lots of ideas but I want to read and it's already 10:00pm. Write more later! Hope you found this blog entry interesting.
God bless,
Elaine
