Boston

Well as you can see it was a cloudy day in Boston, we only stayed there for a bit plus we went shopping in T.J. Maxx there and bought ourselves stuff.

Statue of Phillips Brooks at Trinity Church
This is a statue of Philip Brooks who is well known for writing the hymn "O Little Town of Bethlehem"

Old North Church
This is a photo of Old North Church. It is where the famed "One if by land, two if by sea" signal was sent. See this Wikipedia entry on the History of Old North Church for the story.

Copp's Hill Burying Ground
We went to Copp's Hill Burying Ground Below are some gravestones and yes there is also an elbow of someone in the shot.

Montreal

We went to the underground city in Montreal and we had mass there as it was Sunday and later went to  China Town.

Notre-Dame Basilica

This is Notre Dame Basilica we didn't go to mass there we went to another one, but it was just as beautiful and a wedding was being held there.

Thousand Island

Boldt Castle

Another view of Boldt Castle
We went on a cruise around Thousand Islands and I took photos of Boldt Castle which is on Heart Island in St Lawrence River. It was built by George Boldt as a present to his wife. However, his wife,  Louise Kehrer Boldt, died and he never returned to his island and was left unfinished. It was acquired by the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority which restored it.

Toronto

Here we went on another cruise around the city and had dinner on top of the CN Tower.

Next we went to visit the Amish in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We visited a restaurant that served Amish food and had whoopie pie and shoofly pie (my favourite!)

Here are some photos we took of an Amish house.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

We end our tour in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania  where we had a historical tour of the city and ate some famous food, some greasy steak sandwich.

The Liberty Bell.

One of the copies of the Declaration of Independence
And it's back to New York City!

Here is a far shot of the Statue of Liberty which I took at the beginning of the tour.

There is a poem written by Emma Lazarus called The New Colossus which was used to raise money for the construction of a pedestal. The poem is now cast in bronze and mounted inside the pedestal's lower level. It is written thus:

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
MOTHER OF EXILES. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Well, hope you had fun reading these two posts.

Hope for more adventures in the future!

God bless.
